Following H&V Building Services Ltd successful replacement of the existing heating, hot-water and cold-water plant serving the Chandler Wing at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, we were requested to carry out post contract investigation works associated with reports of low gas pressure within the installation.
Through thorough testing of the gas installation, it was quickly determined that there was a significant pressure drop across the existing gas meter installation which was causing operational issues with the heating plant and kitchens.
H&V successfully negotiated with the gas meter provider the supply and installation of new gas meter arrangement consisting of a new regulator, meter, and meter bypass facility.
The change in meter arrangement required the Hospitals side of the gas meter installation to be modified and upgraded which we carried out.
All new pipework provided by both the meter provider and H&V was full prefabricated with the installation being carried out over an evening shutdown between 22.00 hrs and 04.00 hrs without any inconvenience or loss of services to the hospital.
