The University of Surrey procured the services of H&V Building Services to carry out the refurbishment and redecoration works to HPl – 9 (inclusive) of the Hazel Farm student accommodation site.
Subsequently, further procurement was made in favour of H&V carrying out a conversion of the warden’s flat at 43 Hamilton Drive. The conversion would allow for 7no students to be housed in what is now student accommodation. The works were completed between July & September 2019.
The works consisted of:
- Internal re-decoration of bedrooms
- Re-decoration of lobbies/stairs
- Re-decoration of kitchens
- Installation of intumescent strips and smoke seals
- External re-decoration
- Replace gutters and downpipes
- Installation of new carpet areas
- Installation of new barrier carpet to lobbies
- Minor roof repair works
- External works, replacing doors and windows
- Installation of new lighting/ sockets to desk areas throughout
- Installation of Stove guards throughout
- Flushing and refilling of heating systems
- Servicing of boilers
- Chlorination of hot and cold water systems
- Re-configuration of kitchen at 43 Hamilton Drive
- Formation of stud partitions at 43 Hamilton Drive
- Brickwork to 43 Hamilton Drive
- Installation of shower pods at 43 Hamilton Drive
- Installation of new door sets at 43 Hamilton Drive
- Installation of new vinyl floor to bathroom areas at 43 Hamilton Drive
- Installation of new carpets at 43 Hamilton Drive
- Installation of 1no. New window at 43 Hamilton Drive
