A New Lease of Life for Acton Fire Station
H&V are pleased to announce the successful completion of another project for the London Fire Brigade, having been awarded the contract late last year.
Working within Acton Fire Station in West London, our outstanding team have worked tirelessly over a condensed winter schedule in order to give this historic station a new lease of life. Our operatives have been busy carrying out a complete replacement of all new windows and doorsets station wide.
Works included the following:
• 100no crittle windows replaced with double glazed ALUK slim aluminium profiled windows
• 7No timber doorsets replaced with ALUK Aluminium profiled doorsets
• Curtains and blinds renewed station wide
As one of London Fire Brigade's largest premises, the operations within Acton Fire Station play an integral role in keeping the community safe, so it was essential to keep the station both fully operational and secure throughout works.
This proved to be no challenge for our expert team who hold vast and in-depth experience with working in live environments, and regular liaison with station staff through pre-planned arrangements, was critical in our ability to navigate each of the individual areas, allowing us to maintain momentum throughout the works.
The overall aim of the project was to efficiently overhaul these integral parts of the building fabric, whilst at the same time maintaining the stations superior heritage which has stood for almost 100 years!
We successfully completed the works on time and within the set budget, leaving our valued client once again very pleased with the finished result. Well done team!
Watch this space for our forthcoming completion at another of our London Fire Brigade projects, Middlesex Fire Stations. The project, which includes 4no fire stations, is well underway and on track to reach completion next month.
