Acoustic Flooring Work Advances at Surrey University
Since starting works in April, H&V have been making significant progress on an extensive refurbishment project for the Department of Media and Music at the University of Surrey.
Our team are currently busy working on creating an acoustic concrete floor for the creative arts studio space. The purpose of this technical process is to increase the sound quality when the students are recording or performing within their new state-of-the-art facilities.
With acoustic treatment being such a specialist field, we are working collaboratively with sound studio design experts - Miloco Builds, to provide our client with the ultimate sonic results.
By using a jack-up spring floating floor system, we are able to create a concrete slab that will provide a neutral sound balance. Our team have carefully positioned the spring mounts and mesh, whilst now preparing to pour the concrete. Once this has successfully cured, we will jack the concrete floor up to create a void beneath.
