H&V was appointed to carry out the live replacement of 6no CWS storage tanks across three 1930s, occupied residential blocks, Eton Rise, Eton Hall and Eton Place, each housing over 100 flats.
Services needed to remain live throughout the project and temporary MCWS supplies were provided to existing CWDS pipework in a phased manner whilst removal of existing tanks and installation of new tanks were being carried out. Due to the age and condition of the existing galvanised system, close liaison was required with residents and site porters to ensure water services were kept live during operations and equipment changeovers.
A later instruction included cutting in localised branch isolation valves to each distribution riser service on each roof. Our works included asbestos cleaning of pipework and close liaison with residents when shutting services down. Various shutdowns/changeovers of new and temporary services were restricted to critical daytime timescales.
