Aecom Ltd employed our services on behalf of Bedfordshire University to assist in the electrical enablement works to allow the construction of a new teaching block.
The works were carried out within a very tight timeframe with a drop-dead completion date that could not be extended. The project was carried out under an NEC contract with Contractor’s design, and full liaison was carried out with LEPLC for them to install a new substation and submain renewal.
The works consisted of:

- Fire hydrant relocation
- Load monitoring of existing power supplies
- Temporary supplies and generator backup support to assist various campus building closures
- Removal of existing sub-station
- Supply and installation of sub-main distribution cables, both to internal communal areas and externally via service trenches to car park areas
- Supply and installation of LV panel and PFC unit
- Removal and renewal of suspended ceilings and construction of bulkheads to assist the installation of new cable runs
